To become a fellow of the SPDOS, the physician must meet the following criteria:

Board certification

Clean disciplinary record

No major malpractice claims involving sentinel events(death, brain injury, etc)

Has satisfied their State's Dental Board requirements for providing dental office anesthesia

Criteria for GENERAL FELLOW: ACLS and/or PALS certification and Proof of 100 dental office cases involving deep sedation/GA in the past year (includes both adult and pediatric cases).

Criteria for Pediatric Fellow: PALS certification and Proof of 100 dental office cases involving deep sedation/GA in the past year for children 8 yo or younger
